Absconding drug peddler a big-time supplier to Bollywood?
New Delhi: Actor Apoorva Agnihotri, who was caught in Juhu
rave party case on May 20, is one of the 44 tested positive for drugs on
Friday.
According to media reports, 44 out of the 46 held by the Mumbai
Police at an alleged rave party at suburban Juhu's Oakwoods Hotel on the
night of May 20 have been tested positive for drugs.
As many as 100 people, including IPL players, namely Wayne Parnell
and Rahul Sharma, and 19 foreign nationals, were detained by the police
after they busted the party. The police had also arrested the party
organiser, Vishesh Vijay Handa, under the Narcotic Drugs and
Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The patrons were released in the wee hours the next day after their blood and urine samples were taken for medical examination.
The police claimed to have seized approximately 110 grams of cocaine
along with MDMA, popularly known as ecstasy, and charas from the site.
Earlier, Apoorva and his wife had claimed at a press conference that
they were at the hotel to attend a friend’s birthday party.
Shocking but true that the Mumbai Police is yet to identify the drug
peddler, who supplied banned narcotics to the high profile rave party
busted in Juhu.
Highly placed sources reveal that the drug
peddler, who was present at the rave party when the raid occurred is
said to be a big time supplier of coke (cocaine) to the Bollywood and
Page 3 circles in Mumbai and Goa.
91 invitees were detained, 110
gram Cocaine worth 7 odd lacs with 64 grams of grass (charas) and
ecstasy tablets were seized in the raid, while the cops managed to
arrest the organiser Vishay Handa, they failed to arrest or identify the
peddler.
“The peddler was reportedly in collaboration with the
DJ’s playing in the rave party, who has been organising high profile
parties in Goa and Mumbai for A grade celebrities,” said a police
source.
“It is said that the peddler, who is supplying banned
narcotics to high profile persons is influential and if he would have
been arrested a lot of skeletons may have tumbled out”, said an insider.
While
Mumbai Police has a different version, “There are chances that the
peddler may have flushed the drugs down and posed as a guest in the
party,” Vishwas Nangre Patil, Additional Commissioner of Police (West
Region).
“We have summoned the DJ (Romeo and his brother Deepesh
Sharma) and interrogating arrested Vishay Handa to find out the
whereabouts of the drug peddler," added Patil.
