Paoli (or Paoli') Dam : Bengali: পাওলি দাম; 4 October 1980 is an Indian Bengali actress. She is from Kolkata and came into prominence with her 2009 Bengali film - Kaalbela, directed by notable Director Gautam Ghose.

Education:

She did her schooling the Loreto Schools, Kolkata. Later, she attended the Vidyasagar College in Kolkata, from where graduated in chemistry with honours. Subsequently she also earned a postgraduate degree in chemistry at the Rajabazar Science College of the University of Calcutta.

Career:

She started her career in a mega serial Tithir Atith replacing another actress Mitra. Paoli had come into the focus after the success of Kaalbela directed by Gautam Ghose. After that She was selected for a role in Italo Spinelli's film 'Choli Ke Peeche' after Shahana Goswami and Nandana Sen backed out of the project citing excess of nudity involved. Paoli made her debut with the Bengali film Agnipariksha in 2006. She was also featured in Shob Charitro Kalponik, Bipasha Basu's debut Bengali film directed by Rituparno Ghosh.

Paoli Dam has received the award for Shera Bangali New Face 2009. Paoli Dam faced severe criticism after she took part in an explicit scene involving full frontal nudity and cunnilingus in the 2011 movie Chatrak (Mushrooms) directed by Sri Lankan film director Vimukthi Jayasundara.
